Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Restaurant/Bar/Coffee Shop Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, supporting food and beverage preparation, and ensuring a welcoming environment for all patrons. The ideal candidate will be organised, attentive to detail, and passionate about delivering a high standard of service in a fast-paced setting. Previous experience in food service or barista roles is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and take orders accurately
Serve food and beverages in a timely manner, ensuring presentation standards are maintained
Assist with food preparation tasks as required, adhering to food safety standards
Operate coffee machines and other relevant equipment efficiently
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area, including tables, counters, and kitchen stations
Handle cash transactions accurately using the till system
Restock supplies and ensure stock levels are maintained throughout shifts
Provide information about menu items and make recommendations to customers
Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth operation of the establishment

Requirements

Previous barista experience or serving experience is preferred but not mandatory
Ability to perform basic food preparation tasks safely and efficiently
Good organisational skills with strong time management abilities
Basic mathematical skills for handling cash and processing payments
Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour
Ability to work effectively in a team environment under pressure
Flexibility to work during peak hours, including weekends if required
