Full job description

Do you have empathy and passion to support women experiencing perinatal trauma and/or loss? Do you have experience of working within perinatal services or an interest in perinatal mental health and willingness to learn more about working within this field?

The Lotus Maternal Therapeutic Outreach team aare looking for an enthusiastic psychology graduate who is interested in applying for a substantive full time post, working in a busy team alongside other psychology professionals. It is essential that the applicant is eligible for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society. Our services cater for adults with complex or enduring mental health needs across the Norfolk and Waveney locality.

This fantastic opportunity has arisen to be involved in the continued development and delivery of a specialist birth trauma and perinatal loss service. The Lotus Maternal Therapeutic Outreach Service launched in June 2021 as a pilot site chosen to develop and trial a Maternal Mental Health Service (MMHS) as part of the NHS Long Term Plan. We are a small, dedicated team comprising of Clinical Psychologists, Peer Support Workers and Specialist Midwives, offering specialist assessment and psychological interventions to women and birthing people.

The role will involve delivering psychologically informed interventions under weekly supervision from a qualified clinical psychologist. There will be opportunities for both individual and group work, as well as service-related research and audit. You will have a chance to undertake some inhouse training and co-facilitate teaching for psychology and non-psychology colleagues.

The role will involve working within the community to deliver psychologically informed interventions, with a focus on short term individual work alongside some opportunities for group work. The post holders will also be responsible for supporting each team to complete routine outcome measures, updating databases and be involved in auditing psychological therapies within the service. All clinical work would be under the guidance and supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist. There would be opportunities for service-related research and audit.

You would receive weekly supervision from a qualified psychologist. As a service we have close links to the clinical psychology doctoral training programme at the UEA and have supported previous assistant psychologists onto clinical training.

Enthusiasm, inter-personal warmth and experience of working with people are desired attributes. Good data analysis skills are essential.

Previous experience of working with mental health presentations are desired attributes.
