Job Title: Social Media and Marketing Assistant

Contract Type: Permanent, full time

A brand built on friendship and rooted in craft, Cutler and Gross was established by opticians Mr Cutler and Mr Gross in 1969. They had a vision: to pioneer a new standard of eyewear. Each frame was made by hand in the workshop above the Knightsbridge store in London. Over 55 years on and this philosophy of craftsmanship remains unchanged. Taking place in Italy and Japan, the frames are handcrafted by a team of artisans who have spent decades honing their skills. Today, the proudly independent eyewear brand has 5 flagship store locations in London, Bath, New York and Toronto and has over 2000 Stockists in 50 countries around the world, and online at www.cutlerandgross.com

The role:

The Social Media and Marketing Assistant will be responsible for supporting the execution of marketing initiatives, assisting with social media content creation, scheduling, and community management, and supporting partnerships. This hands-on role requires excellent organisation skills, attention to detail and a strong creative eye, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Support the development and execution of the organic and paid social media strategy across platforms including Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
Manage the daily social posting schedule, ensuring content is timely, on-brand, and aligned with product launches, campaigns, events, and key brand messaging.
Work with the team to create and curate high-quality, platform-optimised visual content, including ecommerce product photography, lifestyle imagery, Reels, motion graphics, and branded assets.
Work with the Brand Copy Editor to write engaging, design-led captions and copy.
Work with Marketing Manager and external performance marketing teams with developing and coordinating paid social campaigns, including targeting, creative testing, and optimisation.
Provide or adapt creative assets for performance-driven formats (e.g. Stories, video ads, carousels).
Support performance reporting by helping monitor paid performance with the Ecommerce and Marketing Manager and assist in reporting on KPIs such as CTR, conversions, and ROAS.
Actively manage community interactions by responding to comments, DMs, tags, and mentions in a timely and brand-aligned voice, alongside the Brand Copy Editor.
Build relationships with followers, creators, influencers, and brand advocates alongside the PR Manager, and support press request send-outs where required.
Identify and engage with UGC and relevant brand-aligned communities.
Track the performance of both organic and paid content, using insights to help optimise posting strategy, content types, and engagement tactics.
Assist in preparing weekly insights and monthly reports with key metrics, highlights, recommendations, and actionable ideas.
Provide day-to-day administrative support to the marketing team, including organising assets and updating content libraries.

Qualifications

3 years’ experience in social media, marketing, or a relevant internship, preferably within fashion, beauty, or luxury lifestyle.
Proven ability to grow and engage audiences across social channels including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn
A portfolio or examples of social content created, either professionally, through freelance work, or personal projects, would be advantageous.
Skilled in tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.
Experience with Meta Ads Manager and social analytics platforms (e.g. Hootsuite, Sprout).
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a busy social calendar with precision and changing product dates.
Sophisticated aesthetic and understanding of luxury brand tone, voice, and audience.
Excellent communication skills, a proactive attitude, and a willingness to learn and develop within a fast-paced marketing team.
