Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and attentive Waiter/Waitress to join our client dynamic team. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional guest service in a fast-paced restaurant environment, ensuring customers enjoy a memorable dining experience. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop hospitality skills and gain valuable experience within the food service industry. Previous restaurant experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided. The position is paid and suitable for individuals passionate about delivering outstanding service and culinary excellence.

Responsibilities

Greet guests warmly upon arrival and ensure they feel welcomed throughout their visit
Take accurate food and beverage orders, providing recommendations when appropriate
Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and hygiene
Ensure guest satisfaction by checking in during their meal and addressing any special requests or concerns
Handle payments accurately, including processing cash and card transactions
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of tables, service stations, and dining areas
Assist with food preparation or kitchen duties as needed, adhering to food safety standards
Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and maximise sales opportunities
Follow health and safety regulations diligently, including proper food handling procedures

Skills

Excellent communication and guest service skills with a friendly demeanour
Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant settings is advantageous
Knowledge of food safety standards and basic food preparation techniques
Ability to perform basic maths accurately for billing purposes
Kitchen experience or culinary knowledge is a plus but not required
Strong organisational skills with effective time management to handle busy periods efficiently
Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude
Upselling skills to promote menu items naturally and enhance guest satisfaction
A proactive approach to guest services, ensuring all visitors have an enjoyable dining experience
