About the Role

We are looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Procurement Buyer to join our growing team. Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will play a key role in managing supplier relationships, sourcing materials and services, and supporting procurement activities across multiple projects and business functions.

This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional looking to develop their career within a fast-paced and dynamic environment. We welcome applications from candidates with experience in procurement, purchasing, buying, supply chain, construction, manufacturing, retail, or other relevant sectors.

You will be responsible for ensuring goods and services are sourced efficiently, delivered on time, and purchased in line with business requirements and budgets.

Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement

Source and procure materials, products, and services in line with business requirements, budgets, and project deadlines.
Negotiate with suppliers to achieve the best value, quality, and service levels.
Obtain and evaluate quotations, ensuring cost-effective purchasing decisions.
Support the identification and implementation of new products, suppliers, and procurement opportunities.
Monitor market trends and pricing to identify cost-saving initiatives.

Supplier & Supply Chain Management

Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders.
Identify, assess, and onboard new suppliers to strengthen and diversify the supply chain.
Monitor supplier performance, delivery reliability, and service standards.
Resolve supplier queries, discrepancies, and commercial issues in a timely and professional manner.
Ensure suppliers consistently meet agreed delivery schedules and contractual requirements.

Reporting & Systems

Produce regular reports on purchasing activity, spend analysis, and supplier performance.
Utilise Excel and ERP systems to manage procurement data and monitor key metrics.
Maintain accurate purchasing records and ensure procurement documentation is up to date.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control activities where required.

General Responsibilities

Support continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function.
Work collaboratively with internal departments to ensure business needs are met effectively.
Contribute to the development and implementation of procurement best practices.
Demonstrate a proactive and solutions-focused approach to procurement challenges.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
Analytical and data-driven approach to decision-making.

Strong problem-solving and relationship-building skills.

Experience & Qualifications

Previous experience in a Procurement, Purchasing, Buyer, or Supply Chain role.
Experience working with suppliers, negotiating costs, and managing procurement processes.
Experience in construction, manufacturing, retail, distribution, property, or a similar industry is advantageous but not essential.
Strong Excel skills and experience using ERP or procurement systems.
Relevant qualifications in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, or a related discipline are desirable.
Working towards or holding a professional procurement qualification (e.g. CIPS) would be advantageous.
