Salary: £34,880 - £38,388 per annum (inclusive of Inner London Weighting and 11% unsocial hours working allowance)

Contractual Hours: 35 hours per week

Hours of Work/Work Pattern: Monday to Sunday, you will be required to commence duties between 07:00 and 11:00 am and conclude the shift between 13.00 and 19.00 hours. Bank Holidays are also worked.

Basis: Full -Time, Fixed Term - 12 months

About us

Home to a rich cultural heritage that draws visitors in their millions, the City of London sits at the heart of our thriving capital. The Central Criminal Court has been London’s principal criminal court for centuries. Over the years, it has been the setting for celebrated trials, often involving the most odious crimes, and this has drawn to it some outstanding lawyers.

The role

We are seeking to recruit a Security Officer working 35 hours per week (flexibly). The principal duties are to ensure the safety of Court users, monitor CCTV, and scan facility users using X-ray machines and handheld metal detectors. Successful candidates will undertake duties within the CCC precinct, including public galleries.

About you

Candidates must be flexible and adaptable in their approach and have proven experience working in high-volume/high-volatility environments, with a proven track record in Customer Service. Candidates should have a Customer Services/Social Care/ Security NVQ or the recognised equivalent. Good written and oral communication skills are also essential, and the ability to undertake delegated tasks effectively in an emergency situation. A SIA Door Supervisor licence would be desirable, and a willingness to obtain one within the first 6 months is an essential requirement.

The post holder will be offered voluntary overtime opportunities, which are paid at an enhanced rate.

Working 7 hours Monday through Sun (Rest days: Tues + Wed/Wed + Thurs), excluding a 1-hour unpaid lunch break. Working hours will occasionally vary to meet the security service's needs. Successful applicants will be required to commence duties between 07:00 and 11:00 am and conclude the shift between 13.00 and 19.00 hours. Bank Holidays are also worked.
