Full job description

Kings Education are seeking enthusiastic and professional EFL teachers to join our central London language school for our summer programme. The school is conveniently located within walking distance of Liverpool Street Station and teaches adult learners from a wide range of international backgrounds.

Dates

This role will begin on Monday 6 July 2026 and continue until Friday 7 August 2026, with the possibility of extension until Friday 21 August 2026.

Requirements

A recognised teacher training qualification (CELTA, Trinity CertTESOL, or equivalent)
An undergraduate degree
English language teaching experience
A C2 level of English
Experience teaching adult learners of English

Candidates without a recognised teaching qualification, relevant teaching experience, and the right to work in the UK will not be considered for this role.

Successful appointment will be dependent upon

An enhanced DBS check
Confirmation of the right to work in the UK
Satisfactory references

Teaching Schedule

Monday–Thursday: Three teaching sessions (09:00–10:30, 11:00–12:30, and 13:30–15:00)
Friday: Two teaching sessions (09:00–10:30 and 11:00–12:30)

Total teaching time: 21 hours per week (For those teachers who work the whole week, 2 extra hours are added to cover administration and meetings).

Duties

To teach English language courses to groups of adults at levels ranging from Beginner (A1) to Advanced (C1)
Morning classes: General English
Afternoon classes: Business English, exam preparation (FCE, CAE, IELTS), Legal English, and Speaking and Listening
To plan, prepare and deliver well-structured lessons appropriate to students' nationalities, levels and learning needs, differentiating appropriately and responding to the strengths and needs of all learners
To demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge
To prepare weekly progress tests and complete weekly progress reports to monitor student progress
To set, mark and assess coursework, homework and other assignments as appropriate
To assess and provide timely feedback on achievement, progress and developmental needs to students, sponsors, parents and academic managers
To write student progress and end-of-course reports as required
To encourage students to take a responsible and conscientious attitude towards their own work and study by incorporating study skills into lessons
To provide academic advice, educational guidance and regular tutorial support, encouraging students to set learning targets
To establish a positive, safe and stimulating learning environment for international students, rooted in mutual respect
To attend regular meetings for planning, coordination and development purposes, as directed
To manage classroom equipment appropriately and report any malfunctioning equipment to the Director of Studies (DoS), EFL Coordinator or relevant member of staff
To complete administrative tasks necessary for the smooth running of the college
To maintain a professional demeanour at all times, helping to create a positive working environment for both students and staff
To take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and others who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work
To make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the college
To work collaboratively with other teaching and administrative staff
To maintain high standards of attendance and punctuality
To undertake any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as required
