Job Description – Cleaning Operative (Spa Facility) WEEKENDS

Job Title - Cleaning Operative – Spa Facility

Location - Craven Cottage, Stevenage Rd, London SW6 6HH

Reporting To - Cleaning Manager

Hours – Working hours 2300-0700 Saturday and Sunday (16 hours per week contract)

Salary - £14.80 per hour

PSS group are a nationwide Soft Facilities Services provider, who work with some of the biggest names in retail, entertainment, facilities management and more.

Job Purpose

To maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation throughout the spa facility, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and luxurious environment for guests, members, visitors, and staff. The Cleaning Operative will be responsible for cleaning all spa areas, adhering to health and safety regulations, and supporting the overall guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

Cleaning Duties

Clean and sanitise all spa facilities, including treatment rooms, relaxation areas, changing rooms, showers, toilets, poolside areas, saunas, steam rooms, and reception areas.
Ensure all floors are swept, vacuumed, mopped, and maintained to a high standard.
Clean mirrors, glass surfaces, fixtures, fittings, and furniture.
Empty waste bins and dispose of waste in accordance with company procedures.
Replenish consumables such as soap, toilet tissue, hand towels, and cleaning supplies.
Maintain cleanliness of staff welfare areas and back-of-house facilities.
Carry out periodic deep-cleaning tasks as directed.

Hygiene & Safety

Follow all cleaning schedules, procedures, and checklists.
Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and in accordance with COSHH regulations.
Identify and report maintenance issues, hazards, damages, or health and safety concerns.
Ensure wet floor signs and other safety measures are used appropriately during cleaning activities.
Support infection prevention and control measures throughout the facility.

Customer Service

Maintain a professional, courteous, and approachable manner at all times.
Respond politely to guest enquiries and direct them to the appropriate member of staff when required.
Work discreetly to minimise disruption to spa guests and treatments.
Present a professional appearance in line with company standards.

General Responsibilities

Complete all assigned tasks within designated timeframes.
Attend training sessions and team meetings as required.
Assist with additional cleaning duties during special events or busy operational periods.
Support colleagues and contribute positively to the overall operation of the spa.

Person Specification

Essential

Previous cleaning experience in a commercial environment.
Good understanding of hygiene and cleanliness standards.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
Good attention to detail.
Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
Physically capable of carrying out manual cleaning duties.

Desirable

Experience working within a spa, leisure, hospitality, hotel, or wellness environment.
Knowledge of COSHH regulations.
Experience using commercial cleaning equipment and machinery.
Understanding of luxury guest service standards.

Health & Safety

The postholder is responsible for:

Complying with all company health and safety policies and procedures.
Using personal protective equipment (PPE) where required.
Reporting accidents, incidents, near misses, and hazards promptly.
Ensuring all cleaning equipment is used and stored safely.
