About The Company
London Councils
London Councils is a cross party organisation representing London’s 32 borough councils and the City of London.
Along with London Tribunals we develop policy and provide London-wide services including the Freedom Pass, Taxicard and Health Emergency Badge.
London Tribunals
London Tribunals was established by the Road Traffic Act 1991 to provide administrative support to the Environment and Traffic Adjudicators. The Service continues to provide this support under the Traffic Management Act 2004 and, since 2003, to the Road User Charging Adjudicators.
The adjudicators consider appeals against Penalty Charge Notices issued by the 33 London local authorities and Transport for London.
The Service receives and processes appeals and schedules hearings.
London Tribunals also provides support for the hearing centre based at Martin Lane EC4R.
London Tribunals aims to provide a fast, efficient and quality service, offering case management support to the panels of independent adjudicators.
Anyone who has received a Penalty Charge Notice can appeal to the adjudicator, provided that the correct procedure has been followed.
Our Recruitment Approach
The application process involves answering a small number of application questions aligned to the essential criteria for the role. All applications will be processed using a blind sifting method. This means that personal identifying details will be removed to ensure fair and unbiased shortlisting of applications.
The panel sees only the anonymised generated CV that Tribepad builds from the Education and Employment History sections of the application form.
Uploading a personal CV is optional and only helps auto-populate these sections - it does not replace completing them.
Please ensure these sections are fully completed. If they’re left blank, key information won’t appear in the anonymised pack and fair review becomes harder.
Your full details and original CV are not shared with the panel until after the shortlist is agreed and you are invited to interview.
We are committed to equal opportunities and encourage applications from all backgrounds. Reasonable adjustments will be made to support candidates during the recruitment process.
As a Disability Confident Employer, London Councils will interview all disabled applicants who meet the essential criteria for the post.
