Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registered Care Manager to oversee the delivery of exceptional care within our care home. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of senior care, including dementia and Alzheimer's care, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance. This role offers an opportunity to lead a dedicated team, develop personalised care plans, and ensure residents' well-being is prioritised at all times. The successful applicant will bring a compassionate approach combined with proven management experience in assisted living or nursing home environments.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise care staff to ensure delivery of high-quality care aligned with organisational policies and regulatory standards
Develop, implement, and review personalised care plans tailored to individual residents’ needs, including specialised dementia and Alzheimer’s care
Oversee medication administration procedures in compliance with legal requirements and best practices
Monitor residents’ health status, liaising with healthcare professionals as necessary to coordinate medical treatments and interventions
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of residents by maintaining a safe environment and adhering to health and safety regulations
Manage staff rotas, recruitment, training, and performance appraisals to foster a motivated and competent team
Maintain accurate documentation related to care provision, incident reports, and regulatory compliance
Lead quality assurance audits and implement continuous improvement initiatives within the care home setting
Support residents’ emotional wellbeing through compassionate leadership and personalised engagement strategies

Experience

Proven experience in senior care settings such as assisted living or nursing homes, with a strong understanding of dementia and Alzheimer’s care
Demonstrable management or supervisory experience within a care environment, including staff leadership and team development
Knowledge of legal frameworks governing adult social care, medication administration, and safeguarding procedures
Experience in developing individualised care plans that promote independence while ensuring safety
Familiarity with home care services is advantageous but not essential
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Compassionate approach combined with excellent communication skills suitable for working with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams
