About the Role
We are looking for a confident and organised Lead Bakery School Assistant to support the day to day running of our Bakery School across all sites.
This is a hands on leadership role. You will ensure classes run smoothly, ingredients and equipment are ready, hygiene standards are consistently high, and every guest has an excellent experience. You will also support and guide the assistant team, setting the tone for professionalism and teamwork.

About the Role
We are looking for an organised, hands on, and proactive Lead Bakery School Assistant to support the day to day running of our Bakery School across multiple sites.
This role is ideal for someone with experience in bakery, hospitality, culinary education, or kitchen operations who enjoys leading a team, maintaining high standards, and creating a great customer experience.
You will play a key part in ensuring classes run smoothly, stock and equipment are well managed, classrooms are maintained to a high standard, and both guests and teachers receive excellent support.
Key ResponsibilitiesDaily Operations & Classroom Support
- Oversee setup and preparation for all bakery classes
- Support teachers during sessions and maintain high classroom standards
- Manage clean downs and classroom resets between sessions
Stock Management & Ordering
- Complete daily ordering of ingredients, packaging, and supplies
- Monitor stock levels and maintain organised storage areas
- Receive, check, and log deliveries accurately
Team Leadership & Support
- Train and support new and existing Bakery School Assistants
- Delegate daily duties and monitor standards
- Assist with rota planning and provide operational cover when needed
Health & Safety & Compliance
- Carry out daily safety and equipment checks
- Ensure food hygiene, allergen, and health & safety procedures are followed
- Report and follow up on maintenance or operational issues
Equipment & Classroom Management
- Maintain organisation and storage of all equipment
- Report damaged or missing items promptly
- Ensure all classrooms remain fully operational and presentation ready
Customer Experience
- Provide a welcoming and professional environment for all participants
- Support dietary, accessibility, and customer service requirements
- Ensure refreshments and tastings are presented to a high standard
Whole School Support
- Support operations across all Bakery School sites when required
- Assist with private bookings, workshops, and special events
- Work collaboratively with the wider Bakery School team to improve operations and guest experience
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience within a bakery, kitchen, hospitality, or culinary school environment
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to lead, support, and motivate a team
- Good understanding of food hygiene and health & safety practices
- Positive attitude with a hands on and proactive approach
Desirable
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate, or willingness to obtain
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
- Basic baking or culinary skills
