Pay Level: 9, £54,556 - £60,085 {fully inclusive of local weighting allowance}
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: 37 hours per week
Location: Observatory House/ Slough Hybrid (minimum 2 days per week in the office)
DBS requirement: Standard

This is an exciting opportunity to lead strategic commissioning activity across Prevention and Carers, developing high-quality, sustainable and person-centred support that promotes independence, wellbeing and better outcomes for residents and unpaid carers across Slough.

As Strategic Commissioner, you will work at the heart of Adult Social Care, turning insight, legislation, lived experience and partnership ambition into practical commissioning plans that deliver real change. You will lead key prevention initiatives, strengthen Slough’s carers offer, shape the local care and support market, and ensure services deliver best value while meeting the needs of a diverse and vibrant community.

You will develop and deliver commissioning strategies to improve services and outcomes for residents, working with partners, people with lived experience, and our co-production network. You will lead transformation initiatives, including service design, redesign, and decommissioning.

Annual increments, where applicable, are usually payable on 1st April each year, subject to six months service in the post, until the maximum spinal column point of the level has been reached. The payment of annual increments is not automatic and is subject to satisfactory performance as assessed by your director.

26 days annual leave (not including Bank holidays), rising to 30 days between 2 - 5 years' service and 33 days after 5 years' service.
