Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Dog Grooming Assistant to join our dog grooming salon. This role involves assiting and supporting our stylists in providing high-quality grooming services for dogs of all breeds and sizes. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals, excellent customer service skills, and the physical ability to handle various grooming tasks. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in animal care and grooming within a friendly, professional environment.

Duties

Bathing, drying, and brushing dogs and preparing them for our stylists
Preparing grooming stations and ensuring all tools and equipment are clean and ready for use and tables/areas free of hair
Handling dogs safely during grooming procedures, ensuring their wellbeing at all times
Maintaining cleanliness of the grooming area, including sanitising tools and work surfaces
Providing exceptional customer service by communicating with pet owners about their pets needs and grooming preferences
Assisting with inventory management by monitoring supplies and notifying staff when replenishments are required
Helping with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments or updating client records
Serving customers in the shop and general cleaning

Skills

Strong animal handling skills with patience and compassion towards pets of all temperaments
Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients and team members
Organised with attention to detail to ensure hygiene standards are maintained at all times
Ability to work well as part of a team in a busy environment while maintaining a caring attitude towards animals and clients

Training will be given. Must be a total dog lover!!

Previous dog related experience would be beneficial- include this in your application.

To start asap. Working days 2 -3 days/ week Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays, working 9am-5.30pm with extra hours as needed or to cover holidays. Must be available to work Fridays and Saturdays. Please only apply if you are available on the days & times listed above.

Role available immediately.

The role could potentially lead to an apprenticeship and career progression could lead to stylist.
