Full job description

Job Overview

We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic Office Junior to join our busy GP practice team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or develop a career in administration within the NHS. Full training will be provided.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing front-line reception duties, supporting administrative tasks, and ensuring smooth daily operations. Organisation, attention to detail, and strong communication skills are essential for this position.

Duties

Providing a warm and professional reception service to patients and visitors.
Answering telephone enquiries and directing calls appropriately with excellent phone etiquette
Handle data entry tasks accurately using EMIS, Docman applications
Maintain organised records and filing systems, both digital and physical
Booking and managing patient appointments
Support the team with administrative tasks such as photocopying, scanning, and document preparation
Maintaining accurate patient records.
Carrying out a variety of administrative and clerical tasks

Experience

Previous office experience or administrative background is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
Excellent communication skills with good phone etiquette
Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Experience with data entry is advantageous
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Demonstrated organisational ability with attention to detail in a clerical setting. This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to gain valuable experience in office administration within a supportive environment. The position offers a chance to develop essential skills that can serve as a foundation for future career growth.

Pay: £10.85-£12.71 per hour
