Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and attentive Food Runner to join our dynamic hospitality team. The Food Runner plays a vital role in ensuring our guests receive prompt and efficient service by delivering food from the kitchen to the dining area. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for the hospitality industry and a keen eye for detail to develop their skills in a fast-paced environment. The role is paid and suitable for those eager to gain experience in restaurant operations, guest services, and food safety standards.

Duties

Collect prepared dishes from the kitchen and deliver them accurately to guests’ tables
Ensure all food orders are presented attractively and in a timely manner
Assist servers with clearing tables and resetting them for new guests
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of service stations and dining areas
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff regarding special requests or dietary requirements
Support the team during busy periods by providing prompt assistance as needed
Uphold food safety standards by handling dishes carefully and ensuring proper hygiene practices are followed
Respond politely to guest inquiries, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette when necessary
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth service flow and guest satisfaction

Requirements

Previous experience in hospitality, restaurant service, or related roles is advantageous but not essential
Knowledge of food preparation, meal presentation, and food safety protocols
Experience as a delivery driver or in courier services is a plus
Strong communication skills and friendly guest service approach
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Basic cooking or culinary experience is desirable
Familiarity with kitchen operations, serving techniques, and hotel or barista experience can be beneficial
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
Professional phone etiquette and good interpersonal skills
A proactive attitude with a genuine interest in providing exceptional guest experiences
