Amazon offers an exciting opportunity to join a creative, dynamic team of Logistics Specialists, dedicated to providing our Customers with a world class Customer Service. Be a part of operating the world’s largest cloud computing infrastructure. Amazon Web Services is seeking a bright, motivated, hardworking, self-starting individual to join our team as a Logistics Specialist in our Data Centres in the Greater Western London area.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong work ethic, attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines, and a commitment to Safety & Operational Excellence. We hope it is you!
This position involves frequent lifting of materials and products (of up to 18 kgs). Responsibilities include manual tasks, such as assembling, addressing, stamping and arranging for the shipment of merchandise and materials. They will also coordinate daily scheduling of deliveries and collections to and from multiple locations. In handling incoming shipments, they will have to unpack boxes and verify contents. The Logistics Specialist will be required to keep precise records of all commodities going in and out of company locations.
The Logistics Specialist is expected to understand all aspects of production, adhere to strict safety standards, maintain very high levels of quality and be willing to travel up to 50% to support other locations within the region (within 30 miles of London Heathrow Airport). Future opportunities for international travel to support other regions may arise.

Key job responsibilities

Work closely with Data Centre Operations Technicians, Data Centre Engineers, Rack Install, Infrastructure Delivery and other internal teams to fulfill parts quickly and accurately
Coordination of all inbound/outbound deliveries, regular liaison with internal vendors, couriers/carriers, transportation and inventory planning teams
Receiving/shipping parts logically and physically, ensuring our Inventory management system is up to date and accurate at all times
Receipt and stowing of all Inventory & non-Inventory items on procurement system and resolve Invoice discrepancies
Responsible for accurate data entry and resolving questions from peer organizations
Execute stock re-balancing through transfers between locations locally and globally, to ensure stock utilization and availability maximization of parts on each location
Responsible for Inventory management, regular cycle counts, customer-oriented storage space optimization, cleanliness, organization and safety of all workspace
Ad hoc analysis and projects based on business needs
Reverse Logistics (RMA); interface directly with vendors to process RMAs and receive replacements

Key job responsibilities

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Experience as a logistics professional supporting inventory cycle counts, shipments, maintenance, stock control functions and reverse logistics
Speak, write, and read fluently in English
Experience using computers and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Can lift loads of up to 20kgs and carry them for short distances

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience working in data centers with an emphasis on building and equipment operation
Experience with shipping & receiving, inventory and warehousing practices
Experience in operations or inventory management
Experience with database administration
Experience managing projects
Experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments at any given time while maintaining commitment to deadlines, or experience with domestic or international travel coordination
