About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our Primary Care team at HMP Belmarsh, a category A prison located in London.

HMP Belmarsh is a maximum security male prison where you will assist the wider healthcare team with duties such as observations, ECG's, phlebotomy (training provided). For this role you must have experience within Mental Health.

There is free parking on site.

Hours

The site currently offers shifts of 7am to 7pm - Working week is 37.5 hours and will be on a rota basis.

Salary

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £32,134 per annum.

What you'll be doing

As a Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will

Support the registered nurse in implementing an agreed plan of care in association with the patient and in accordance with instructions and training received whilst promoting safe patient care
Be willing to develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.

Qualifications required

NVQ level 2/3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care.
Experience within Mental Health
A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
Excellent communication skills
Good IT skills and IT literacy
Ability to work within a busy environment
Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment
