Job Summary
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and highly organised 'Contracts Manager' with a background in painting and decorating, to oversee and co-ordinate contractual agreements within our organisation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple projects, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, and fostering strong relationships with clients. This role requires excellent management, negotiation, and communication skills, along with a solid understanding of construction and project management processes. The Contracts Manager will play a pivotal role in driving project success through effective organisation and leadership.
Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for ensuring decorating projects are delivered profitably, safely, on time and to a high standard
- Planning of labour, materials and schedules in advance
- Supervising decorators and communicating/liaising with clients, the main contractors and suppliers
- Managing and working with the admin team to manage pricing variations and controlling costs
- Ensuring H&S compliance and delivering toolbox talks, also RAMS
- Keeping a tight control on snagging and general standards must be regularly checked and issues flagged to Director asap
- Build new and maintain existing relationships with our clients through effective communication at all times
- Resolve site problems, delays, disputes or labour/resource shortages
- Ensure deadlines are met and planned for in advance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in management, negotiation, and project management within the construction sector or related fields
- You must have a background in the painting and decorating industry
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent leadership qualities with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, organisational tools such as Microsoft Project or similar software
- Sound knowledge of construction processes, legal standards, and contractual frameworks
- Demonstrated ability in time management to meet tight deadlines without compromising quality
- Valid driving licence for site visits or client meetings as required, vehicle provided
