Transport Planner – £30,000 per annum

EFM Distribution | Daventry
Full-Time | Permanent
Monday to Friday | 12:00pm – 9:00pm

EFM Distribution is looking for an organised and proactive Transport Planner to join our busy transport operation in Daventry.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with transport, logistics, or planning experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and playing a key role in ensuring deliveries and collections run smoothly and efficiently.

What You'll Be Doing

Planning and scheduling daily vehicle routes
Allocating work to drivers and vehicles
Monitoring deliveries and collections throughout the day
Liaising with drivers, customers, and warehouse teams
Managing route changes and operational challenges in real time
Ensuring compliance with driver hours and transport regulations
Supporting service performance and operational efficiency

What We're Looking For

Previous experience in a transport planning, logistics, or fleet coordination role
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Strong geographical knowledge of the UK road network
Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workloads effectively
Good IT skills and experience using planning or transport systems
A proactive approach with strong problem-solving abilities

Desirable Skills

Experience using a Transport Management System (TMS)
Knowledge of driver hours and transport compliance regulations
Experience within general haulage, pallet networks, or distribution operations
CPC qualification (advantageous but not essential)
