Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Legal Secretary to join our dynamic Family Department. This vital role offers the opportunity to support legal professionals in managing family law cases, ensuring smooth administrative operations, and delivering exceptional client service. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and proficiency in legal and office software. If you are passionate about contributing to meaningful legal work, this position is perfect for you.

Duties

Provide comprehensive administrative support to family law solicitors, including managing calendars and scheduling appointments.
Prepare, draft, and type legal documents, correspondence, and reports with accuracy using audio typing and standard templates and Leap case management system.
Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documentation is current, complete, and easily accessible.
Manage incoming calls, emails, and client inquiries professionally, demonstrating excellent communication skills at all times.
Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) to create presentations, spreadsheets, and manage correspondence efficiently.
Coordinate meetings and court dates while ensuring deadlines are met through effective time management.
Assist with IT-related tasks as needed to ensure smooth operation of office technology systems.

Experience

Proven administrative experience in a legal environment or similar setting.
Strong proficiency in audio typing with high accuracy and speed.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Demonstrated competence in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Effective communication skills—both written and verbal—to liaise confidently with clients, colleagues, and external agencies.
Familiarity with IT systems relevant to legal practice management is advantageous.
Ability to manage time efficiently in a busy office setting while maintaining attention to detail.
