Overview

Join our dynamic team as an MOT Tester and Mechanic, where your expertise will keep vehicles safe, compliant, and running smoothly. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical skills in a fast-paced environment, ensuring vehicles meet all safety standards through thorough inspections and repairs. You’ll be a vital part of a dedicated team committed to delivering exceptional service and maintaining the highest safety standards on the road.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive MOT tests on a wide range of vehicles, ensuring compliance with legal and safety requirements.
Perform detailed vehicle inspections to identify mechanical issues, safety concerns, and maintenance needs.
Carry out repairs, adjustments, and servicing using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to resolve identified issues efficiently.
Assist with vehicle diagnostics to pinpoint faults accurately and recommend appropriate repairs or replacements.
Handle heavy lifting tasks safely when moving or installing vehicle parts or equipment.
Maintain accurate records of all inspections, repairs, and services performed for each vehicle.
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety regulations and company standards.

Requirements

Proven mechanical knowledge with experience working on various vehicle makes and models.
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for repairs and maintenance tasks.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely as part of routine vehicle servicing or repairs.
Strong attention to detail to ensure thorough inspections and accurate diagnostics.
Excellent communication skills to explain findings and repair recommendations clearly.
Relevant certifications or qualifications in vehicle maintenance or MOT testing are preferred but not mandatory; training can be provided for the right candidate.
