Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Staff Nurse to join our night shift team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care during overnight hours, ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of all patients. This role offers an opportunity to work in a supportive environment where clinical skills and empathy are highly valued. The position is paid and suitable for nurses committed to delivering excellent healthcare services during the night shift.

Duties

Deliver comprehensive patient care, including monitoring vital signs, administering medication, and assisting with daily activities.
Observe and record patient conditions accurately, reporting any changes to senior medical staff promptly.
Assist in the preparation of patients for examinations or procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety.
Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and health and safety regulations.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualised care plans.
Educate patients and their families about health management, medication usage, and post-discharge care instructions.
Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and promptly in accordance with hospital policies.
Respond swiftly to emergencies or urgent situations, providing immediate nursing intervention as required.
Lead the team and oversee the smooth running of the home in the absence of management, ensuring residents’ safety, staff support, and high standards of care are maintained.

Requirements

Valid registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or equivalent regulatory body.
Proven experience in patient care within a hospital or clinical setting is desirable.
Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology to support accurate assessment and treatment.
Proficiency in medication administration, including understanding dosages, contraindications, and potential side effects.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively during night shifts.
Compassionate approach with excellent communication skills to interact empathetically with patients and colleagues.
Ability to work independently while also being a team player in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility to work night shifts on a regular basis, including weekends if necessary.
