Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality food services. The successful candidate will assist with meal preparation, food safety, and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment. This role offers valuable experience in catering, cooking, and restaurant operations, ideal for individuals passionate about culinary arts and food service. The Kitchen Assistant will play a vital role in ensuring smooth kitchen operations and exceptional customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation and meal assembly in accordance with health and safety standards
Support chefs and kitchen staff in daily tasks such as chopping, mixing, and plating dishes
Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, utensils, and kitchen equipment to ensure hygiene standards are met
Help with inventory management by organising ingredients and supplies
Follow food safety procedures diligently to prevent contamination and ensure quality control
Serve food to customers or staff in a courteous and professional manner when required
Assist in setting up the dining area for service, including arranging tables and clearing after meals
Support catering events by preparing ingredients and assisting with event-specific tasks

Skills

Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is desirable
Strong understanding of food preparation techniques and kitchen safety protocols
Ability to work efficiently under supervision while maintaining attention to detail
Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour when serving customers or colleagues
Basic knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Willingness to learn new skills related to culinary arts and food service operations
