Full job description

Job Overview

The Garrick Bar is seeking Temporary Bar Staff to join our team for Fleadh Belfast 2026. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be a part of the world's biggest celebration of Irish music, and also to gain experience in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Applicants must be available to work at least 3 days in the period from Sunday 2nd August - Sunday 9th August. Day shifts and evening shifts are available. Availability to work the weekend is a must.

We are offering very competitive pay of up to £19.00 per hour.

Successful candidates will be responsible for delivering efficient customer service, preparing and serving beverages, ensuring the bar area maintains high standards of cleanliness and safety, and providing a fun festival experience to all customers! Prior experience in hospitality or retail is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.

Duties

Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to customers in a courteous and timely manner
Take orders accurately and handle cash or card payments using the POS system
Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including wiping surfaces and restocking supplies
Ensure compliance with health, safety and licensing regulations at all times
Assist in setting up and closing down the bar before and after service
Manage multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods, demonstrating excellent time management skills
Collaborate with team members to deliver a seamless customer experience

Experience

Previous experience in hospitality or serving roles is desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided for suitable candidates
Basic maths skills are essential for handling payments accurately
Experience working in a hospitality or retail environment will be advantageous
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively during busy shifts are important for success in this role

Pay: £19.00 per hour
