Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Practice Nurse to join our healthcare team. To provide and maintain a high professional standard of nursing care in adherence to all Practice protocols/policies and guidelines, as well as providing nursing assistance to the GPs. This role insists on flexibility in line with the current environment for change that exists within the health service delivery. The ideal candidate will need to work within their own level of competency and adapt/expand his/her role in accordance with the needs/requirements and scope of the practice. The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care, assist with clinical procedures, and support the smooth operation of the practice. The Practice Nurse will be responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing services, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining accurate medical records
Qualifications - Essential
- Recognised Nursing qualification
- Current NMC registration
Desirable
· General Practice experience
· Specialist courses appropriate to primary care, e.g.: CHD, diabetes, cervical smears, asthma and COPD
· Ability to demonstrate competencies in a range of chronic disease areas.

Responsibilities
- The role will require the post holder to run their own clinics, delivering direct patient care, including health assessments, chronic disease monitoring, - asthma, COPD, diabetes, wound management, and health education - ensuring the appropriate history taking, examination and management plan is formulated.
- Administering medications and injections in accordance with prescribed protocols
- Assisting with clinical procedures such as blood tests, vaccinations, and minor treatments
- Monitoring patient vital signs and recording medical information accurately
- Providing health advice and support to patients on a range of medical issues
- Ensuring infection control standards are maintained throughout the practice
- Supporting the wider healthcare team with administrative tasks as required
- Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to all relevant healthcare regulations and policies
Skills
- Proven experience in patient care within a clinical setting
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology
- Competence in medication administration and understanding of pharmacology principles
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to empathise with patients of all ages
- Organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Ability to work collaboratively
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of care
Pay: £18.00-£27.00 per hour
