Job Summary

Pumpkin Lane Day Nursery is looking for a caring, enthusiastic and reliable Nursery Practitioner to join our friendly team.

We are passionate about providing a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where children can learn, grow and thrive. The successful candidate will support children’s learning and development through play, build positive relationships with families and work as part of a supportive early years team.

This role would suit someone who is passionate about childcare, enjoys working with young children and is committed to delivering high-quality early years care and education.

Responsibilities

As a Nursery Practitioner, your duties will include:

Providing high-quality care and education for children in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage
Planning and delivering age-appropriate activities that support children’s learning and development
Observing, assessing and recording children’s progress
Supporting children with daily routines, including meals, toileting, sleep and personal care
Creating a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment
Building positive relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues
Supporting children’s independence, confidence and social development
Following nursery policies and procedures, including safeguarding, health and safety and confidentiality
Maintaining a clean, safe and organised nursery environment
Working as part of a team to ensure the smooth running of the nursery day

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

A recognised Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification preferred
Experience working with children in an early years setting preferred
A good understanding of the EYFS
A caring, patient and positive approach
Good communication and teamwork skills
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Reliability, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn

Desirable

Paediatric First Aid qualification
Previous nursery or childcare experience
Knowledge of observation and planning processes
