Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Heat Pump Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heat pump systems, ensuring optimal performance and energy efficiency. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professionals with a strong background in mechanical systems, air conditioning, and construction to contribute to innovative climate control solutions. The position requires leadership qualities to oversee projects and guide junior team members, ensuring safety and quality standards are met. A comprehensive understanding of schematics and equipment repair is essential for troubleshooting complex systems effectively.

Responsibilities

Conduct routine maintenance and inspections to ensure system efficiency and longevity.
Diagnose faults using schematics and technical manuals; perform necessary repairs or replacements of components.
Collaborate with clients to assess their heating and cooling needs, offering expert advice on system optimisation.
Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and system performance data.
Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
Assist in the training of junior staff or apprentices in equipment repair, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.

Requirements

Proven experience in mechanical systems, air conditioning, or HVAC engineering.
Strong knowledge of schematics, electrical wiring diagrams, and system troubleshooting.
Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage projects and mentor team members.
Proficiency in equipment repair, maintenance practices, and construction-related tasks.
Familiarity with heat pump technology, including installation techniques and operational principles.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and reporting.
Relevant qualifications or certifications in HVAC or mechanical engineering are preferred but not mandatory.
