Full job description

The Albany Theatre is Coventry’s professional community theatre, presenting a vibrant programme of theatre, music, comedy, and community activity.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and people-focused Team Leader to lead and support our Duty Managers and volunteer teams, ensuring a warm welcome, safe environment, and excellent experience for every visitor.

This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same. You’ll play a key role in shaping our front-of-house culture, supporting staff and volunteers, and helping deliver exceptional events and performances.

Responsibilities:

Leading and motivating Duty Managers and volunteers
Managing recruitment, onboarding, training, and rotas
Acting as Designated Safeguarding Officer (training can be provided)
Supporting day-to-day front-of-house operations and customer experience
Overseeing volunteer engagement, wellbeing and recognition
Managing bar operations, including stock, suppliers, and compliance
Ensuring high standards of health & safety and operational compliance

We’re looking for someone with:

Experience leading teams in a customer-facing environment
Strong organisational and communication skills
Experience in recruitment, training, or rota management
A proactive approach to customer service and problem-solving
Understanding of safeguarding, health & safety, and compliance
Experience in bar or hospitality operations (desirable)

Pay: £27,000.00 per year
