Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and skilled piano teacher to join our music school in the beautiful village of Lymm in Cheshire. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in piano teaching, with the ability to inspire students of all ages and skill levels. This role involves creating engaging lesson plans, fostering a love for music, and helping students achieve their musical goals in a supportive environment. Car driver essential.

Responsibilities

Develop and deliver tailored piano lessons for students of varying ages and abilities.
Take over existing timetable for departing tutor on Fridays
Assess students' progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance their skills.
Create a positive and encouraging learning atmosphere that fosters creativity and self-expression.
Prepare students for performances, exams, or competitions as required.
Maintain clear communication with students and their families regarding progress and any concerns.
Organise recitals or events to showcase student achievements and promote community engagement.
Stay updated on teaching methodologies and incorporate new techniques into lessons as appropriate.

Requirements

Proven experience as a piano teacher.
Degree or Grade 8 minimum requirement.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with students and parents.
Patience, enthusiasm, and the ability to motivate students in their learning journey.
Commutable distance to Lymm
After school/evening session.
Familiarity with exam syllabi eg ABRSM, Trinity, LCM, Rockschool.
Scope to grow cohort and work more hours if candidate wishes to.
