Finance Officer (Part-Time, Flexible Hours)

Location: AKS Lytham
Salary: Competitive, dependent upon experience and qualifications
Hours: Negotiable, minimum 3 days (or equivalent) per week
Contract: Permanent, Part-Time

AKS Lytham is a thriving independent school committed to providing an outstanding education within a supportive and nurturing environment. We are seeking an organised, proactive and detail-oriented Finance Officer to join our professional support team.

Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the school's day-to-day financial operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional looking for flexible working arrangements within a rewarding educational setting.

We are particularly interested in candidates who hold, or are working towards, a recognised finance qualification such as AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent, although relevant experience will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Processing purchase invoices and supplier payments.
Managing fee billing, receipts and credit control.
Maintaining accurate financial records and reconciliations.
Supporting payroll administration.
Maintaining the school's accounting systems and records.
Supporting the annual audit and year-end processes.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

Previous experience in a finance or accounts role.
A recognised finance qualification (AAT preferred) or relevant equivalent experience.
Strong numerical and analytical skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability.
Good IT skills, including Excel and finance systems.
The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a small team.

Experience within a school or educational environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
