1 Support worker position for 14 hours per week (Thursday and Friday) & every other weekend
1 x bank support worker for holiday and sick cover also required.
We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and reliable carer with a background in domiciliary care to support our wonderful client with day-to-day tasks and to participate in social activities.
This role requires a balance of professionalism and a relaxed, natural approach- providing reassurance when needed as the client can experience cognitive and emotional overwhelm in certain circumstances.
Patience and a genuine desire to build a meaningful relationship with our client is what is essential for this role. The successful candidate must be confident in reading social cues, respecting personal and emotional space when required, but being able to readily respond to needs and promote social engagement.
What you will be doing:
- Personal care as required.
- Assisting with mobility, encouraging safety and appropriate use of aids and hoists
- Stoma and catheter care.
- Meal prep
- Assisting with shopping and social activities
- Providing practical support in the home, to include washing, ironing, cleaning and supporting client to access the community
- Follow ‘rehab informed’ care plans and work under the direction of the MDT.
THE IDEAL PA:
· At least 6 months care experience in a client’s home.
·Experience working with amputees.
· Moving and handling training
·Awareness of stoma and catheters.
· Clear DBS check
· Strong English communication skills and a caring attitude is essential
· Knowledge of domiciliary procedures and protocols is beneficial
·Ideal candidate will have a clear, full UK MANUAL driving Licence
·Have scar management experience (desirable)
