Patient Care Co-ordinator

Overview

We are a leading specialist plastic surgery hospital seeking a compassionate, professional, and organised Patient Care Co-ordinator to join our dedicated team. This is a patient-focused role, where you will play an integral part in delivering an exceptional experience from the first enquiry through to post-operative care.

As the first point of contact for patients, you will provide outstanding customer service, ensuring every individual feels welcomed, supported, and cared for throughout their surgical journey. Working closely with our consultants, nursing teams, and administrative staff, you will help coordinate appointments, manage patient communications, and contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the hospital.

Previous experience in a healthcare, patient care, or administrative environment is desirable; however, full training will be provided for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver a warm, professional, and empathetic welcome to all patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals.
Support patients throughout their plastic surgery journey, providing clear communication, reassurance, and exceptional customer care from initial consultation to follow-up appointments.
Coordinate patient appointments, consultations, procedures, and aftercare visits, ensuring efficient diary management for consultant plastic surgeons.
Respond promptly and professionally to telephone calls, emails, and patient enquiries, directing requests to the appropriate team members where necessary.
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all documentation is completed in line with hospital policies and confidentiality standards.
Assist patients with appointment bookings, pre-operative information, and general administrative queries.
Undertake a range of administrative duties including data entry, document management, filing, and correspondence.
Work collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams to ensure a seamless patient experience and efficient daily operations.
Support colleagues with additional administrative and patient care coordination tasks as required.

Skills & Experience

Previous experience in a healthcare, medical, patient care, or administrative role is desirable.
A genuine passion for delivering exceptional patient care and customer service.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and provide reassurance to patients.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail when managing confidential patient information.
A calm, compassionate, and professional approach, with the ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and empathy.
