CAD DRAFTSPERSON
Lucid Creates have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detailed-orientated CAD Draftsperson to join our dedicated team as part of a small yet pioneering creative studio. The draftsperson will play a key role in translating creative and technical concepts into precise, production-ready drawings for fabricators and on-site assembly. This is an opportunity to work on innovative, large-scale creative projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment within a creative team. You will be working alongside internal creative, management and in-house fabrication teams and play an integral part in the delivery of ground-breaking AV experiences across the globe, including stages, shows and large-scale art installations. We’re looking for a proactive, organised and confident candidate who is able to produce technical drawings for a range of boundary-pushing creative projects, in-line with the high standards the studio is known for.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Produce accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings using Autodesk Inventor following brief from technical director
- Develop detailed fabrication drawings, assemblies and technical documentation which will be used by both fabrication and on-site teams during build and assembly process for large-scale structures and installations
- Ensure all designs are practical, buildable and aligned with real-world fabrication and on-site build processes
- Maintain organised, up to date drawing libraries and version control
- Support prototyping, design development and problem-solving during design and fabrication pipeline
- Work closely with in-house designers, engineers and project managers to assist in bringing projects to life as part of a seamless, streamlined workstream
- You will be expected to work on multitude of projects at any one time, ability to manage workloads effectively is a must
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Demonstrable experience using Inventor (essential)
- Solid understanding of fabrication methods, materials, and/or live/event production environments
- Ability to produce accurate drawings suitable for manufacture and installation, ensuring all key information is captured in drawings
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy is a must
- Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Clear communication and collaborative working style
- Ability to work to deadlines, manage own time independently and prioritise work on multiple projects
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritise workflow and completion dates
- Own transport by car essential as our workshop is only accessible by car
DESIRABLE SKILLS
- Experience using Vectorworks
- Understanding of Layher scaffold systems is desirable
- Engineering background (mechanical, structural or similar)
- Experience working with fabricators or workshop teams is highly beneficial

LOCATION / WORKING HOURS
- 09:00 - 17:00 (flexible working hours are available)
- This is a full time role, the candidate will be required to work closely with the management and fabrication team from our studio in Sittingbourne, Kent (1 hour drive from South East London) at least 3 days a week
- Our office is only accessible by car

SALARY
- £40,000 – £50,000 (depending on experience)

Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
