Healthcare Assistant (Bank / Flexible Shifts Available)
Location: Maldon, Essex
Salary: Competitive rates of pay, up to £13.50/hour, depending on Experience and Qualifications

St Peter’s Nursing Home is looking to recruit experienced, skilled, and committed Healthcare Assistants to join our dedicated nursing team providing high-quality care for residents with complex nursing needs.

We specialise in delivering person-centred, one-to-one care and are seeking compassionate carers who are passionate about making a genuine difference in the lives of vulnerable adults.

Located within the historic grounds of St Peter’s Hospital in Maldon, Essex, our welcoming and newly refurbished nursing home provides a calm and supportive environment for residents requiring specialist nursing and dementia care. Main Duties and Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality personal and nursing care with dignity and respect
Provide one-to-one support for residents with complex care needs
Support residents living with Dementia, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s disease, physical disabilities, and other complex conditions
Complete accurate care documentation and observation records
Promote infection prevention and health & safety procedures
Work closely with nurses and senior staff to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained
Provide emotional support and companionship to residents
Maintain a calm, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and families

Essential Requirements

Minimum of 1 year care experience within the UK
Must hold a valid Right to Work in the UK
We do not offer sponsorship
Care Certificate is essential
Experience working within nursing homes or complex care settings
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Compassionate, professional, and reliable approach to care

Desirable Qualifications

NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
NVQ Level 3 is advantageous
Experience in Dementia Care, Mental Health, Physical Disabilities, or End-of-Life Care

Shift Patterns

Day Shifts

7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (full shift)
7:00 AM – 1:00 PM (half shift)
1:00 PM – 7:00 PM (half shift)

Night Shift

7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Flexible working patterns available, including weekdays, weekends, and bank shifts.
