Description

Reporting to the Finance Operations Manager, the Finance Operations Assistant will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the Bank. Working as part of a collaborative finance team, you will gain exposure to a broad range of accounting and finance activities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their finance career, working alongside experienced professionals in a regulated financial services environment while building strong technical and operational accounting knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

Support the day-to-day financial operations of the Bank, including bank reconciliations, cash management activities, and reconciling items.
Assist with accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, supplier reconciliations and operational payments.
Support the preparation and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and ensuring financial records.
Contribute to month-end activities, management reporting and routine accounting processes across the finance function.
Develop an understanding of end-to-end finance processes, accounting principles, regulatory requirements and operational controls within a regulated banking environment.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Essential

GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above, or equivalent). A-levels, BTEC or equivalent qualification.
Commitment to studying towards an AAT qualification

Desirable

Previous finance, administration or office-based work experience.
Good Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work accurately and methodically.
Experience of working with financial systems.
