Full job description

Overview
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic bar staff member to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing excellent customer service, a strong understanding of food safety standards, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills within a lively venue, ensuring guests enjoy a memorable experience.

Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including cocktails, beers, wines, and soft drinks
Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar area in accordance with health and safety regulations
Ensure all drinks are prepared to standard and served promptly
Manage cash transactions and operate the POS system efficiently
Restock bar supplies as needed and monitor stock levels
Uphold responsible serving practices by checking IDs and adhering to licensing laws
Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent customer service during busy periods

Requirements

Proven experience working as bar staff within a hospitality or restaurant setting
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and responsible alcohol service
Excellent communication skills with the ability to serve customers courteously and efficiently
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately
Experience in serving beverages and understanding of different drink recipes
Strong time management skills to ensure prompt service during peak hours
A friendly, professional demeanour with a genuine passion for hospitality
Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable but not essential for motivated candidates
