The Role

Tameside’s Missing from Home Service is seeking a committed and motivated Intervention Worker to join our dynamic, multi-agency team. Working alongside Greater Manchester Police and the Complex Safeguarding Team, you will play a key role in safeguarding children who go missing from home or care and are at increased risk of harm, including exploitation.

This is a rewarding and fast-paced role where you will build meaningful relationships with young people and families, contribute to early intervention and prevention, and support improved outcomes for vulnerable children.

About You

In this role, you will deliver timely, trauma-informed and child-centred Return Home Interviews, enabling children and young people to share their experiences and have their voices heard. You will identify and analyse the push and pull factors contributing to missing episodes, assess risk, and inform safeguarding planning.

You will work collaboratively with partner agencies, including attending multi-agency meetings and risk management forums, to support coordinated safeguarding responses. A key aspect of the role includes the accurate recording of information, maintaining high-quality case records, and the timely sharing of intelligence and safeguarding concerns with relevant professionals to reduce risk and prevent repeat missing episodes.
