The Role

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Part-Time Caretaker/Cleaner to join our dedicated team.
This is a key role in ensuring that our school premises are clean, well-maintained, and safe for pupils, staff, and visitors.
The successful candidate will take pride in their work and support the school’s Christian ethos through diligence, care, and a servant-hearted attitude.

Start Date: 3rd November 2025
Hours: Part-time (approximately 20 hours per week, term-time plus occasional holiday work)
Salary: Dependent on experience

Key Responsibilities

Carry out general cleaning duties across classrooms, offices, toilets, and communal areas.
Ensure the building is clean, tidy, and ready for daily use.
Perform basic maintenance, repairs, and checks to maintain safety and functionality.
Open and secure the building at designated times (morning/evening).
Monitor stock of cleaning materials and inform management when supplies need replenishing.
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and COSHH regulations.
Support with setting up rooms for school events, assemblies, and meetings.
Work collaboratively with staff to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the school site.

Person Specification

Essential:

Previous experience in cleaning or caretaking work.
Strong attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
Commitment to safeguarding and maintaining a safe environment for children.
Respect for and willingness to support the Christian ethos of the school.

Desirable:

Basic maintenance or handyman skills.
Experience in a school or similar environment.
First Aid or Health & Safety training (training can be provided).
