Location: Greater Manchester (various supported accommodation sites)
Hours: Full-time
Contract Type: Permanent

The Role

As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting young people aged 16–18 who are living in semi-independent accommodation. Many of the young people we support are unaccompanied asylum seekers and care leavers.

You will:

Build trusting, professional relationships with young people
Support them to attend appointments, access education/training and manage their day-to-day needs
Promote independence by helping with budgeting, travel training and daily living skills
Work collaboratively with social workers, healthcare professionals and other external agencies
Keep accurate records and contribute to ongoing care and support plans
Be expected to work in line with Ofsted regulations, maintaining high standards of care and compliance at all times

What We’re Looking For

2 years experience working with vulnerable young people
A relevant Level 3 qualification (e.g. QCF/NVQ in Health & Social Care or Children & Young People's Services) OR a willingness to work towards one
A good standard of spoken and written English – you will be required to communicate clearly and effectively with young people and professionals
Empathy, resilience, strong communication skills and a genuine passion for helping young people
Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends
