This role comes with a fully funded Level 3 AI Activator Apprenticeship delivered by one of the UK's leading apprenticeship training provider, rated Outstanding by Ofsted. That means you earn a full salary while gaining a nationally recognised qualification at absolutely zero cost to you. By the time you complete this programme you will be a qualified AI and automation professional working at the frontier of one of the most exciting technological shifts of our lifetime.

The Apprenticeship - What You'll Gain

Over 13 structured months, delivered by one of the UK's leading apprenticeship training provider- an Ofsted Outstanding provider and leading Microsoft Training Services Partner - you will work through 12 professionally designed units covering every dimension of AI in modern business:

You'll be supported throughout by a dedicated Development Coach, regular coaching sessions, and access to Live AI Drop-In Clinics via Microsoft Teams running Monday to Thursday with both AM and PM options - flexible support that fits around your working week.
In month 13 you'll complete a Capstone Project before your 12-week End Point Assessment - a series of knowledge tests, a work-based project and an interview with an independent assessor.
On completion you will be awarded a Level 3 IT Solutions Technician Apprenticeship - a nationally recognised industry qualification that makes you eligible to apply for RITTech, the professional registration for IT technicians on an independent public register for those working in IT and digital.
You'll also get access to Skillsoft Percipio throughout the programme - thousands of on-demand resources, videos and certifications from Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco and more, to deepen your expertise well beyond the core curriculum.
The Role - What You'll Actually Be Doing
From day one you'll be working as part of a small, close-knit team helping to build and maintain real AI-powered systems. This is not a shadowing role. This is not a make-yourself-useful apprenticeship. You'll be contributing to live projects that directly affect how VM Technology Group operates and delivers for clients.
You'll work closely with our infrastructure and automation lead and under the direct mentorship of our founder, who will give you the direction, context and specifications you need to contribute meaningfully from early in your time with us.
As your skills and confidence grow - supported by your apprenticeship learning - so will your ownership and independence.
In your first six months you'll be:
- Getting deeply familiar with our automation infrastructure and existing agent stack
- Supporting build tasks following detailed technical specifications
- Documenting workflows and system behaviour
- Developing commercial context for what we're building and why
- Applying your apprenticeship learning directly to live work
From months seven to ten you'll be:
- Contributing to agent builds with growing independence
- Helping the team work more efficiently through AI-assisted workflows
- Building and maintaining internal ops agents
- Working on the technical SEO automation pipeline
- Applying advanced prompt engineering to live production systems
After that you'll be:
- Taking genuine ownership of defined parts of the agent stack
- Contributing to revenue-driving product agent development
- Helping champion AI adoption across the wider team
- Preparing your Capstone Project to professional standards
The Tech Stack
You don't need to know any of this yet. You'll learn it progressively through your apprenticeship and hands-on work. Familiarity with any of it is a bonus, not a requirement:
- n8n - workflow automation and agent orchestration
- Docker and Ubuntu Linux - infrastructure fundamentals
- AWS Lightsail - cloud hosting
- Anthropic Claude API - AI model integration
- Google APIs - Search Console, GA4, PageSpeed Insights
- JSON and REST API fundamentals

You love being part of a team. You communicate openly, pull your weight, and genuinely want the people around you to succeed alongside you. In a small business everyone's contribution matters and you understand that.
Advantageous but not essential:
- Some personal interest or curiosity in technology, AI tools or how digital systems work
- Any experience experimenting with AI tools - even casually
- Logical thinking and an interest in how processes and workflows fit together
- Any evidence of self-directed learning - online courses, personal projects, anything you've taught yourself
