OverviewWe are seeking a passionate and creative full time Florist to join our team ideally with 3- 5 years of floristry experience. The ideal candidate will have a flair for design and an understanding of floral arrangements, coupled with excellent customer service skills.
As a Florist, you will be responsible for creating beautiful floral displays, assisting customers with their selections, and ensuring the shop is well-organised and inviting, being apart and supporting our current team of florists in Manchester.
Designer Flowers by Rodgers is a well-established business developed into a multiple full-service retail florist. Over the years, we have achieved the ability to provide floral designs truly for any occasion from small bunches, for the home, large events such as weddings, funerals and corporate events.
We are looking to fill this post with someone who will continue to focus on providing our excellent customers with the best possible experience when creating individual hand tied bouquets, seasonal displays, or events.
The role requires a confident and versatile florist with proven experience across our full range of Interflora & online orders, retail, corporate installations, bespoke event floristry and installations.
This full-time position: 09:00am to 17:00pm - 7.5hrs per day (with ½ hr unpaid lunch break), working a 2 weekly recurring rota: 4 / 6 days (which includes working one Saturday with the following Monday off)
Duties & Responsibilities
- Design and create floral arrangements for various occasions, including weddings, funerals, and special events.
· Ensure that all orders are fulfilled in line with service level agreements both in store and online.
· Be an ambassador for the brand, providing great service ensuring that customers’ needs are met or exceeded.
- Assist customers in selecting flowers and arrangements that meet their needs and preferences.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the shop, ensuring all displays are attractive and well-stocked.
- Process orders efficiently, including taking payments and managing inventory.
- Communicate effectively with customers to understand their requirements and provide exceptional service.
· Support other colleagues with tasks as required.
· Apply excellent stock rotation disciplines to maintain freshness and quality, ensuring that older stock is always used first.
Experience:
- Perficient with Interflora and online orders.
- Excellent communication skills with customers, colleagues and management
- Strong knowledge of floral design techniques, flower varieties, and care procedures.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated and organised
- Strong attention to detail with a creative approach to product development and display
Essentials:
- Interflora experience, relevant floristry qualification or equivalent years of experience in the industry
- Outstanding customer service experience, with a friendly and professional demeanour.
- Able to work additional hours during peak periods
- Excellent communication & organisational skills with the ability to be flexible and prioritise tasks efficiently within a team.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Computer literate: confident with Microsoft Office, managing online orders, internal & external emails, ‘EPOS Now’ till system, customer orders & queries, and other business online platforms.
- Driving licence
