Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated HDR (Housing Disrepair) Paralegal to join our legal team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting housing disrepair cases, ensuring efficient case management and effective communication with clients and stakeholders. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about housing law and committed to delivering high-quality legal support. The role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks within tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

Assist solicitors in preparing and managing housing disrepair cases from inception to resolution
Conduct legal research related to housing law and relevant regulations
Draft and review legal documents, correspondence, and reports using Microsoft Word and Outlook
Maintain accurate case files and ensure all documentation is up-to-date and organised
Liaise with clients, landlords, contractors, and other stakeholders via email and phone calls
Manage deadlines effectively using time management skills to ensure timely case progression
Utilise Microsoft Excel for data entry, tracking case progress, and reporting purposes
Organise meetings, appointments, and court dates efficiently
Support the team with administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and document scanning

Experience

Previous experience working as a paralegal or in a legal support role is essential; training will be provided
Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is essential
Good IT literacy with the ability to adapt to new software systems quickly
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Demonstrated time management skills to handle multiple cases simultaneously
Knowledge of housing law or housing disrepair issues is advantageous but not mandatory; a keen interest in this area is preferred

Pay: £26,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
