Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team in the role of Butcher. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic food production environment, contributing to the preparation and presentation of high-quality meat. The successful candidate will be passionate about food, possess relevant experience, and be committed to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.

Duties

Butchery
Preparing, trimming, weighing and pricing up meat;
Cutting and boning a carcass;
Packaging meat and storing it correctly;
Discussing different cuts with customers, including how to cook and safely store them;
Keeping the working environment safe and storing meat in accordance with health and safety legislation;
Maintaining Records and ensuring work areas are clean and compliant with all food safety and hygiene standards.
Hygiene Certificate
Concepting & Preparing Spinney Abbey Value Added Products
Maintaining Health & Safety standards for cleanliness of the shop
Ad Hoc duties if needed like helping to move cows or filling cider barrels or feeding animals
Anything else you can reasonably be expected to do in the day to day running of the shop
Running a market stall 1x month (including driving, loading the meat, setting up the market stall, breakdown and returning to farm).

The working days would be 5 days per week (Tue-Sat).

Experience

Previous butchery and retail experience.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
Strong understanding of meat preparation techniques
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and a customer-oriented approach.

Compensation comensurate with experience

Pay: £12.71-£17.00 per hour
