Full job description

Senior Accountant / Client Manager

Role Details

Location: Ipswich (office-based)
Hours: Full-time (Monday to Friday) or part-time (minimum 25 hours per week)
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience and qualifications
Start Date: As soon as possible

Key Responsibilities

Preparing statutory accounts for a portfolio of small and medium-sized businesses including submissions to companies house and HMRC.
Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
Preparing sole trader accounts and personal tax returns.
Reconciling bank accounts and general ledgers.
Supporting year-end accounting processes.
Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients.
Providing day-to-day accounting advice and support to clients.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

Previous experience working within an accountancy practice.
Strong knowledge of accounts preparation, VAT, personal tax and corporation tax.
Experience using cloud accounting software (Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, and FreeAgent).
Experience in preparing accounts for small and medium-sized businesses.
Experience in submitting accounts and returns to HMRC and Companies House.
Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
Positive attitude with excellent communication and client service skills.

Desirable:

AAT qualified or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
