Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled MOT Tester to join our automotive service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting vehicle safety inspections in accordance with legal standards, ensuring vehicles meet required safety and environmental regulations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for vehicle maintenance and a keen eye for detail to contribute to our reputable workshop.

Duties

Conduct comprehensive MOT tests on a variety of vehicles, ensuring compliance with current legislation and safety standards.
Perform routine inspections and identify any defects or issues requiring repair or further investigation.
Use hand tools and power tools to assist with minor repairs or adjustments as needed during testing procedures.
Maintain accurate records of all inspections and tests carried out, ensuring documentation is up-to-date and compliant with regulatory requirements.
Assist in the calibration and maintenance of testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Adhere to health and safety protocols at all times, including safe handling of heavy parts and equipment.
Communicate effectively with customers regarding test results, repairs needed, or additional services.

Qualifications

Proven experience as an MOT Tester or in a similar vehicle inspection role.
Mechanical knowledge with a good understanding of vehicle systems and components.
Competency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling vehicle parts or equipment.
Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
Valid MOT tester certification recognised by the DVSA (Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency).
Good communication skills, capable of explaining technical issues clearly to customers.
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. This position is ideal for dedicated professionals looking to advance their career within the automotive industry while ensuring vehicles are safe for all road users.

Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
