Overview
Optimal FM Construction are looking for a reliable and experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general maintenance, with a joinery background preferred and be confident carrying out works across commercial and/or retail environments.

This role would suit someone who is hands-on, proactive and able to work both independently and as part of a wider team.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned and reactive maintenance works
Complete general building repairs and fabric maintenance
Undertake joinery works where required
Attend sites to diagnose issues and complete repairs efficiently
Ensure works are completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales
Maintain a clean, safe working environment at all times
Complete job sheets, reports, and updates as required
Liaise professionally with clients, site staff and management
Follow all company health and safety procedures

Requirements

Previous experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role
Joinery background preferred
Valid CSCS card essential
Full UK driving licence essential
Ability to carry out a range of building maintenance tasks
Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and manage workload
Good communication skills
Reliable, punctual and professional approach
Willingness to travel to different sites as required

Desirable

Experience working in retail, commercial, or facilities maintenance environments
Basic plumbing, painting, decorating or flooring experience
Own tools preferred
IPAF/PASMA or other trade-related qualifications would be advantageous
