Full job description

Position: Stairlift Engineer / Installer

Hours: 9:00am - 5:00 pm

Type: Permanent, Full-time

Salary: £27,250 per annum, rising to £32,250 plus company bonus (circa £40,000 per annum) plus on-call allowance of £3000

Areas: Covering Darlington & Stockton

Stairlift Engineer / Installer
Location: Based from our Darlington store

We are the UK’s largest Mobility and Stairlift retailer, with 42 stores and 200+ employees. Our focus is on customer care and providing high-quality service.

No experience? No problem.
Full training is provided, though a background in mechanics or electrics would be an advantage.

This is a practical, hands-on role, so you must be comfortable lifting and handling heavy items.

What You will Do:

Provide excellent customer service from first visit to installation and aftercare
Visit customers at home to assess, advise, and quote for stairlifts
Install straight and curved stairlifts (standard and bespoke)
Repair, service, and maintain stairlifts
Manage stock and deliveries
Out-of-hours rota for customer callouts (additional rate paid on top of the on-call allowance)

What We are Looking For:

Good communication and customer service skills
Problem-solving and organisational skills
Willingness to learn new technology and methods
Ability to work alone or as part of a team
Flexible, reliable, and compassionate approach to work
A full UK driving licence (essential)
Able to pass an enhanced DBS check (we’ll pay for this)
