Driver/Warehouse Assistant- Fakenham

W J Aldiss Limited is one of East Anglia's leading independent retailers and has been established for over 130 years. We pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service and we are looking for a full-time Driver/Warehouse Assistant to be part of our successful business.

Driver - Working as part of a two-person team, the main duties for customer deliveries will include:

· Delivering furniture to customers premises in a safe and timely manner and adhering to driving/tachograph rules;

· Unloading furniture from vans and taking into customers homes in a safe and efficient manner and removing furniture from customers homes as necessary;

· Providing exceptional customer service with politeness and professionalism.

You will be working as part of the warehouse team initially to gain the knowledge and skills that are essential to being able to deliver to our customers. Once you have received the required training, you will be placed on a driver rota and assist with customer deliveries. The training period in the warehouse may be reduced for drivers with appropriate qualifications and experience.

Warehouse - Based at the Distribution Centre in Fakenham, the main warehouse duties will include:

· Assisting with movement of large items of stock around the warehouse and other company premises which will involve lifting, using a forklift or other aids;

· Assisting with loading and unloading goods from vehicles/vans;

· Assisting with stock administration paperwork including receipt of goods;

· General housekeeping duties in and around company premises.

This role will include heavy lifting and manual tasks on a daily basis.

What we are looking for:

· A positive and motivated team player;

· Ability to complete administration paperwork in a timely and accurate manner;

· A full car driving licence is essential;

· A Class 1 and forklift licence is advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided for the right candidate.

This is a Monday to Friday position working 40 hours per week between the hours of 8am and 5pm. Only very occasional Saturday working will be required. Bank Holiday working is not required.

We offer a competitive rate of pay of £13.08 per hour plus a driver bonus of £10 per day once on the driver rota and when out on deliveries:

Delivery driver rate - £13.08 to £14.33 per hour (based on an 8-hour working day)

Warehouse rate - £13.08 per hour

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
