Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fire Alarm or Electrical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing and maintaining, and troubleshooting fire alarm systems across various construction and commercial sites. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professionals with a strong background in electrical systems, mechanical knowledge, and construction processes to contribute to safety and compliance standards within the industry. Candidates should possess a proactive approach, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. We would consider offering full training and certification for candidates with a background in electrical or similar electronic systems. Our office is based in Meopham, Kent but we are contracted to work in various locations in and around London and the South East.

A company vehicle will be provided.

Duties

Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of existing fire alarm installations to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Troubleshoot system faults using schematics, electrical experience, and hand tools; perform repairs or replacements as necessary.
Install fire alarm systems on-site, including wiring, sensor placement, panel configuration, and integration with building management systems.
Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and construction plans to facilitate accurate system installation and modifications.
Utilise power tools and hand tools safely during installation and maintenance activities.
Collaborate with construction teams to coordinate system installation within building projects.
Provide technical support during system commissioning and testing phases to ensure operational integrity.
Input all service and installation works to the company’s remote and mobile cloud based management system.
Document all work performed accurately in accordance with regulatory requirements and company procedures.

Requirements

Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and electrical components used in fire alarm systems.
Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams accurately.
Experience with a focus on safety standards and regulatory compliance.
Knowledge of construction practices related to building services installation.
Good organisational skills.
Relevant certifications or qualifications in electrical engineering or fire safety systems are desirable but not essential, , the successful candidate would be given training and BAFE certification courses when they have reached proficiency. This position offers a dynamic working environment where technical expertise is valued, providing opportunities for professional growth within the industry while ensuring the highest standards of safety are maintained across all projects.

Pay: £35,000.00-£43,000.00 per year
