Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter/Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. This role is essential in ensuring smooth food service operations and upholding high standards of hygiene and safety. The position offers valuable experience within the hospitality industry, ideal for individuals interested in developing their culinary and hospitality skills.

Duties

Washing, peeling, and preparing ingredients for cooking and service
Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision
Cleaning kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to maintain hygiene standards
Ensuring all areas of the kitchen are kept tidy and organised throughout shifts
Supporting chefs with stock rotation and storage of ingredients
Assisting with the disposal of waste and recycling materials appropriately
Restocking supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times

Skills

Experience or interest in food preparation and cooking is desirable
Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is advantageous
Good organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Basic understanding of kitchen safety and hygiene standards
Willingness to learn new skills related to culinary arts and hospitality services
